Union Terminal Warehouse fills up as OutEast business hub takes shape

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –

Nearly seven months after opening, Union Terminal Warehouse is beginning to look less like a redevelopment project and more like a functioning piece of the OutEast neighborhood.

Columbia Ventures’ $73 million overhaul of the historic warehouse has brought apartments, offices and small businesses into the 300,000-square-foot building. Of its 43 main-floor office spaces, 35 are occupied, while six of 11 basement flex spaces are leased. On the residential side, 154 of 228 apartments are rented.

A mother-daughter team with deep Eastside roots is bringing its farm-to-table take on Gullah Geechee foodways to one of the neighborhood’s biggest redevelopment projects.

Chef Andrea Bryant-Smith and farmer Ashantae Green will launch The NYAM Club at Union Terminal Warehouse on Aug. 29 with an intimate, five-course dinner built around seasonal crops harvested from their family’s Green Legacy Farm.
