Savannah City Council OKs Sale of Downtown Building for Hotel

“The city’s Revenue Department, where residents pay their utility bills, will be moved to the Savannah Civic Center, following the Savannah City Council’s 5-3 vote Thursday to sell the Broughton Municipal Building.

The buyer, Columbia Ventures, plans to convert the six-story, mid-century building into a hotel with retail on the ground floor that would be mostly food- and beverage-oriented, and a terrace and event space on the roof, according to Savannah’s Real Estate Services Director David Keating. …”
