Casey Foundation, a philanthropic organization that aims to better the lives of American children, alongside partners Core Ventures and Columbia Ventures, a company with local expertise in affordable housing. The site is several blocks east of the Atlanta Beltline’s Westside Trail; even more crucially, its southern border will one day be the Southside Trail, which engineers indicate will swoop down to Pittsburgh Yards’s back porch, so to speak, leaving an elevated former railroad for future transit. …”

Pittsburgh Yards mixed-use project lands federal grant

“The federal government is lending a helping hand to a mixed-use development in south Atlanta’s Pittsburgh neighborhood.

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration awarded a $1.5 million grant Tuesday to the state of Georgia to help fund infrastructure improvements related to the “Pittsburgh Yards” project, which broke ground at a 31-acre site last March. …”
