Review board signs off on design for Columbia Ventures in Brooklyn

The Atlanta-based developer plans an estimated $100 million apartment and retail project at Forest and Park streets.

Atlanta-based Columbia Ventures LLC is a step closer to breaking ground on its proposed five-story, 341-unit mixed-use apartment community at Park and Forest streets in Brooklyn. 

The Downtown Development Review Board voted 7-0 on July 14 to grant final design approval for the residential and retail project at Forest and Park streets that Columbia Ventures co-founder and Managing Partner Dillon Baynes said in an email May 9 will be a $100 million investment. 

He said the company “loves the Florida Story, the Sunbelt Story and the Jacksonville Story,” Baynes said in the email. 

“We are all in,” he said. “We have an office in Savannah two hours away and have been in the market for almost four years. We hope to find other great opportunities in time.”

Columbia Ventures mixed-use, 390 Park St.

The board voted 6-0 to grant conceptual approval for Atlanta-based Columbia Ventures LLC plans to build a five-story, 341-unit mixed-use apartment development at Park and Forest streets in Brooklyn.         

Renderings and plans by Studio Architects of Atlanta show a project that includes restaurant and retail spaces and a 428-space parking garage at 390 Park St.

Columbia Ventures LLC proposes five-story mixed-use project in Brooklyn

Atlanta-based Columbia Ventures LLC plans to build a five-story, 341-unit mixed-use apartment development at Park and Forest streets in Brooklyn.          

A report and renderings released May 5 by the city Downtown Development Review Board show a project that includes restaurant and retail spaces and a 428-space parking garage at 390 Park St. 

The review board is scheduled to vote May 12 on Columbia Ventures’ request to approve the conceptual architectural design for the project. 

Columbia Ventures bought the 0.58-acre site Nov. 23 for $3.55 million from Veritas Inc., according to Duval County property records.
