Downtown university cleared for $115M,on-campus student housing project

A local institute of higher education has received the key approvals it needs to
move forward with building its first on-campus student housing.

The building is part of the Ballfield at Auraria mixed-use development being
spearheaded by development firm Columbia Ventures and the Auraria Campus,
formerly known as the Auraria Higher Education Center.


Summit House, as the new, approximately 200,000-square-foot student
housing structure will be called, is planned for an empty plot of land on Auraria
Parkway, across from Ball Arena, said Jim Carpenter, MSU Denver’s chief
financial officer and vice president for administration and finance.
